I am inspired by balance, rhythm, harmony, and purpose.
The wondrous source of creative energy, which is at the core of passion, drives shape and form. The juxtaposition of colors, combinations of geometric patterns, layers, textures, rhythm, depth, spatial sensation and the human emotional response to all of it fascinate me.
The truest form of self is what shines the brightest. Tapping into it requires simply the removal of all else. Connection with this source is expressed through art in principles of balance and harmony. I use techniques of layering, color, composition and brush strokes to conceptually illustrate the opposing forces that are continuously at play in every facet of life and are harmoniously necessary for balance and ultimate existence.

My interest in art began long before I learned about theory, design and philosophy. As a young child I picked up pencils, crayons, paints or anything that could produce a mark. As early as 2nd grade my artwork was the recipient of awards. In 1994 I studied architecture at the University of Florida. Spending my last semester in Vicenza, Italy helped instill an appreciation for deeper universal connections through visual elements, spatial concepts, rhythm, and the mind/body connection with inhabitable design. I gained a solid ground in diagrammatic object purpose, and as a result much of my work is influenced by conceptual architecture with a strict adherence to rhythm and pattern.
Later in life, intrigued by the influence of art on the mind/body and the healing powers of harmony, I went back to school and received a masters degree in rehabilitation counseling. Environmental factors play heavily into mental health and well being, and I found that harmonious elements such as nature and art contribute greatly to well being . My art is the manifestation of an innate gift guided and formed through a combination of acquired skills and theoretical philosophies in physics, science and healing.
